About Tizmo Toys
We’re proudly based in Ashburton, New Zealand, and every Tizmo Toy is printed, packaged, and shipped directly from our studio to your door.
Tizmo Toys began as a spark of curiosity and quickly grew into something much more. Founded by Helen and Aaron Beal in the heart of Ashburton, New Zealand, what started as a hobby has blossomed into a small but mighty business focused on creating fun, high-quality 3D printed toys.
Our background is in graphic and website design, and we've always had a passion for animation and creativity. In late 2024, we bought our first 3D printer just to “have a go.” Little did we know how quickly it would become an obsession! Surrounded by a world of incredible designs and colourful filaments, we soon found ourselves printing quirky keychains, clever fidget toys, and whimsical animals — mostly for our kids.
The real lightbulb moment came at the end of the school year, when we printed 50 articulated animals (now called Wigglets)
as gifts for our children’s classmates. The response was beyond anything we expected — the kids loved them, and there may have even been a few tears from siblings who missed out! That’s when we knew: we had to share these with the rest of New Zealand.
You might be wondering, "What does Tizmo mean?"
The truth is, the name doesn’t come from any one thing — but it captures everything we wanted our brand to be: fun, friendly, fresh, and just a little bit quirky. We wanted something playful that reflects the joy and creativity of the toys we make, and Tizmo Toys felt just right.
Our range is ever-evolving, but our commitment to quality never changes.
Every toy that leaves our studio has been printed with precision, carefully checked, and finished to a high standard. If a toy doesn’t quite meet our expectations, we don’t throw it away — we offer it at a discounted price so it still finds a happy home.
Our first and most popular collection is the Wigglet range — colourful, articulated creatures that wiggle, twist, and move in all
sorts of satisfying ways. They're tactile, fun to fidget with, and come in a variety of limited edition colours. Many customers love to collect them, especially when we release special one-off colour runs and mystery packs.
We’re also working behind the scenes on an exciting new range of educational toys — designed to be assembled, decorated, and played with. These will offer hands-on fun for kids (and grown-ups!) who love to build and create.
All of our toys are designed (by us or creators we’ve licensed from) and printed right here in Ashburton. We use a selection of modern, high-quality PLA filaments in fresh and vibrant colours that stand out from the crowd. Our process is carefully tuned to produce toys that are
durable, smooth, and safe for all-day play.
While we're currently working with commercial licences from talented model creators around the world, we have big plans to start designing our own products in-house. Original Tizmo creations are on the horizon!
We're more than just a toy brand — we're a family-run studio built on creativity, colour, and connection. Here's what sets us apart:
As we grow, we want Tizmo Toys to become a trusted go-to for playful, engaging toys that are a joy to own and gift. We’re already dreaming up new product ranges, seasonal specials, and exciting ways to bring more joy
into homes around Aotearoa and beyond.
Eventually, we hope to start showcasing our products at markets, expand our design library with original creations, and possibly even open a small physical storefront — but for now, we’re loving the hands-on process of building something truly special from the ground up.
We’d love for you to follow our journey! You can find us on Instagram and Facebook @TizmoToys, where we share new releases, behind-the-scenes peeks, and plenty of colourful creations.Thank you for supporting our small NZ business — we hope you love our toys as much as we’ve loved making them.
